YOGA SCHOOL & TEACHER TRAINING PROGRAM

Welcome. Are you living an authentic life? Or are you simply moving through the steps that are required day to day. If you are reading this, chances are you are ready to make a change, and Yoga is life changing. This intensive yoga school and teacher training program is designed to guide you deep into the ancient practice of Yoga where change lies. If you are looking to deepen your personal practice or if your desire is to teach, or if continued learning is your thing, bring it to the Edge. Our experienced and energetic group of teachers will guide you to the edge of learning and teaching where excitement and liberation are cultivated. We aim to break free from the rules and introduce many styles of yoga. Creativity and edgy thinking will be encouraged. Soon, you will be using your yoga mat as your new vehicle on the path of life. The only fuel needed is receptiveness. This program will require a commitment from your mind, body, and heart! Our commitment to you will be 100%.

The curriculum at Yoga with an Edge, a certified yoga school, has been approved by Yoga Alliance. You will be eligible for certification through Yoga Alliance at the end of training if all 9-month requirements have been met. Certificates of graduation will be provided by the Edge.

NOTE: Two-hour master classes on Saturday will open to the public. The public may register for one class or all Saturday classes.
NOTE: The Anatomy weekend will be open to public registration. This weekend meets the requirements of Yoga Alliance.

NINE MONTH INTENSIVE/COMPREHENSIVE STUDY INCLUDES
~ Learning to design and teach a challenging yoga class.
~ Learning to design and teach a soft easy-flow yoga class.
~ Learning basic anatomy and physiology.
~ Learning the breakdown, alignment, and modification of Postures.
~ Learning to sequence classes.
~ Learning how to assist, evaluate bodies physically and emotionally, and prevent injuries.
~ Learning Pranayama breathing techniques to incorporate into your classes.
~ Learning the Chakra System.
~ Learning Yoga’s roots/beginnings.
~ Learning the lifestyles and ethics for yoga teachers and students, diving deep into the Eight Limbs of Yoga.
~ Diving into and exploring Restorative Yoga, Core Yoga, Yin Yoga, Back Care Yoga, Kundalini Yoga, Ashtanga Yoga, Hot Yoga, Hatha Yoga and Meditation/Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction.
~ Learning effective presentation and communication skills to teach to different levels.
~ Learning effective skills for enjoyable meditation, diving deep into Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction.
~ Learning how to incorporate the alignment of  Tadasana into every posture for stability and power in the practice
~ Learning Sanskrit for the 31 Postures Offered.

CURRIULUM REQUIREMENTS
~ 30-60 minutes asana practice daily. in-studio and out of studio
~ Journaling regarding daily practice (journals will be turned in and returned).
~ 10-30 minutes meditation practice daily.
~ 10 required books to read.
~ Three 1-3 page reports to write (one biography, your choice).
~ One 3-7 page report to write (topic to be assigned).
~ Attend and evaluate 3 yoga classes of different teachers (evaluations to be turned in).
~ Teach 3 yoga classes supervised (evaluations required from teachers).
~ Teach 3 yoga classes unsupervised (evaluations required from students).
~ Adjust 3 yoga classes supervised (evaluations required from students).
~ Full attendance.

Note: Edge public classes will be available for student-teaching purposes.

REQUIREMENTS FOR ACCEPTANCE
~ Must be 18 years or older.
~ A complete Admission Application.
~ Six months practice with a live teacher in a studio (open for discussion).
~ A strong desire to explore and learn the ancient practice of yoga.
~ A strong commitment to the 9-month program. This means no weekends missed.
~ A willingness to be receptive to whatever is offered.
~ A willingness to trust your teachers and be coachable.
~ An open heart.
~ A commitment to live your YOGA!

TUITION
$2,550.
We accept check, cash, or credit card. For credit card payments, please click the graphic below, which will take you to our MindBody online store. A $500 deposit is required with the Application to reserve your space.  Should you need to cancel your reservation before the training begins, the deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable. PLEASE NOTE CAREFULLY: Your application and deposit signify your obligation to remit the total fee, regardless of whether you finish the program after the program begins. The total fee if paying in installments is $2,550 and if paying in full, $2,450. Tuition may be paid in full, which includes deposit of $500. If paid in full, you will receive a $100 discount, bringing your total to $2,450. Tuition may be paid in 5 installments, after required deposit of $500. $410 would be due each of the first 5 months of training: February, March, April, May and June. There will be no exceptions regarding the due dates. You may sign up for the training until training is fully booked. Please email or call to inquire.

WHAT IF I MISS A WEEKEND?
No portion of tuition will be returned. To receive your certificate, you will be required to make up the missed weekend either at the Edge when teachers are available or at another Yoga Alliance Certified Studio when the required class is being offered. It will be costly.
